SuiteScript: Enhance Productivity through Automation
Technical personnel can extend applications in many ways using SuiteScript technology.

For example, when an employee record is added, SuiteScript can automatically set up an event record for an orientation session, or a task record for the employee to complete new hire paperwork. SuiteScript can execute across a majority of record types, including all custom records. SuiteScript can be used to create standalone applications having the look and feel of NetSuite forms, or something that is more unique. Creating custom scripted portlets, specialized batch processes such as for custom email campaigns, and integration support for mobile devices are just some of the other things you can do with SuiteScript.

SuiteFlow: Workflow Fundamentals
Are you non-technical, but have always wanted to implement basic automation into your NetSuite forms?

You can do this through our point-and-click SuiteFlow toolset. Defaulting data into fields, dynamically hiding/ showing fields, creating records—these are just some of the basic things that can be done with SuiteFlow. Approval processing is a big piece of what you can do, and it’s much more efficient to use SuiteFlow for this than SuiteScript. One of many examples is an approval process surrounding an estimate. A sales rep creates an estimate, but a sales manager should approve it before the estimate can be turned into a sales order. This approval process can be constructed using a handful of prebuilt SuiteFlow actions.

SuiteFlow: Advanced Workflows
And don’t discount SuiteFlow technology just because you are technical!

SuiteFlow can be extended through SuiteScripts; for example, by creating a custom mass approval process via a Suitelet. You can embed SuiteScripts inside your workflows through the creation of custom actions. Business requirements covering parallel approvals/parallel processing can be implemented with SuiteFlow by incorporating more complex design patterns. Use of SQL formulas, SuiteScript formulas, and scheduled actions/transitions are just some of the other things you can do with SuiteFlow to enhance your use cases. Go directly into this advanced class if you’re technical and have had some exposure to SuiteFlow, or take the fundamentals course for a solid introduction.

SuiteTalk: Integrate Your Applications
SuiteTalk is our web services platform based on the SOAP protocol. Gain access to standard and custom NetSuite data through CRUD-style (Create-Read-Update-Delete) operations. All updates to NetSuite data through SuiteTalk web services run through the same business logic layer as the user interface, meaning you are better protected from data integrity issues. A typical example would be to load sales orders into NetSuite through a third-party point-of-sale or pull NetSuite’s CRM data to an external system.
