Lilla P Finds a Perfect Fit with SuiteCommerce

Lilla P, a New York City-based women’s apparel brand, has built a strong following with its modern, casual clothing that it describes as “unfettered yet full of subtle detail.” That same description also suits its highly successful www.lillap.com web storefront.

Built on the NetSuite SuiteCommerce platform, Lilla P’s website has helped drive a four-fold increase in sales since its launch in 2007, steadily incorporating design refinements and advanced features while maintaining a chic, understated look that its customers relate to.

“We wanted our website to reflect our brand—very clean lines, a modern aesthetic, a ‘less is more’ philosophy,” says Thomas Nakios, Lilla P President. “I feel we have a robust and dynamic site that can continue to grow with the focus that NetSuite is putting on its SuiteCommerce initiative.”

Customizability and an Integrated Suite
Lilla P, with distinctively elegant but casual shirts, pants, sweaters, and jackets available over its website and at more than 1,000 boutiques in the US and Canada, deployed the NetSuite ecommerce platform along with back-office financials and order and inventory management modules. Early on, Lilla P recognized SuiteCommerce’s customizability and the benefits of an integrated suite that brought together the web store with back-office operational data.

With continuous refinements and use of analytics to determine the most effective design and functionality, the Lilla P storefront today offers:

An engaging customer experience. “Click to select” functionality lets shoppers view a product in multiple colors with a simple click, without a page reload. Mouse-over image zooming enables an up-close look at fabrics and garment details. Integration with inventory data alerts shoppers if an item is not available in a certain size or color, helping customers to make informed shopping decisions before they purchase. And one-page checkout streamlines the path to purchase, helping Lilla P keep its cart abandonment rate near 56 percent, well below the retail industry average.

Best-in-class boutique finder. Integrating with Google Maps, NetSuite powers a boutique finder that displays stores in North America selling the Lilla P brand. The solution detects the shopper’s IP address to show boutiques in the area, with easy zoom-out to view locations across the continent without the need to enter a zip code. Mousing over a location displays the store’s name, an added touch that enriches the shopping experience.

Promotional flexibility and marketing. Lilla P courts shoppers with promotional codes, ability to share on social media, and newsletter and email marketing that promotes merchandise personalized to a customer’s past buying behavior.

Robust B2B ecommerce. Functionality has steadily been built out on the same platform as its consumer site to support the B2B portal, offering registered wholesale buyers the ability to see real-time inventory, place and track orders, access promotional materials, and more.

Efficient End-to-End Commerce
Replacing a patchwork of QuickBooks and an ecommerce-based website, NetSuite has given Lilla P an end-to-end commerce solution that drives efficiency through tight integration between the website and back-office operations. Real-time inventory visibility helps Lilla P manage about 10,000 SKUs and streamline business with suppliers.

Overall, NetSuite’s cloud-based solution has enabled Lilla P to save significantly on personnel that would be required with an alternative approach. “NetSuite has definitely allowed us to scale our business very seamlessly while improving productivity and avoiding unnecessary costs for servers and on-premise software,” Nakios says. “We’re very pleased with SuiteCommerce and see it as helping us further grow our business.”
